This section was destined to remain empty for a long time, but my mentor-teacher-friend Renzo Ruggieri convinced me to participate in the "3° Accordion Art Festiva" competition in the jazz composition category. Due to the first place first place obtained by the song I decided to make the music sheet abailabe for downloading along with a short audio demo. One thing is sure: Renzo Ruggieri is the best jazz accordionist that we have in Italy. He demonstrates this in his last CD "Terre". This work emphasizes the great sound of his accordion and his jazz experience.
The lyricism of this passionate work touch peaks of pure poety improvisation. Here is the transcription of his solo on the song "Genova".

The world of the accordion seem to be very interested in the jazz style of the well-known Belgian guitarist Django Reinhardt. The sound of our instrument is very good for this kind of jazz and we have the best results in samll groups such as duos or trios. Here is the transcription of Loduvic Beier's solo on "Minor Swing".

Now is the time for an accordionist's solo. Renzo Ruggieri. This solo is a little lesson about improvisation where Renzo tells us how to manage ideas, tension, dynamics and relaxation in a very short amount of time (32 measure) with a great lyricism, efficacy and fully respecting the melody.

This Chet Baker's solo is a delightful pearl of lyricism on a beautiful song. It was the firs solo that I transcribed. Due to its simplicity it's also a great ecercise for those who are approaching improvisation.
