I’ve been playing the accordion since the age of 5.
For 6 years I went to a private German accordion school. After that I went to the classical Italian accordion school of the Master M° Ado Rossi with a formal
link to the "Italian Didactic Music Center" (CDMI). At this school I got a
7-year-diploma in classical
accordion. This took approximately 7 years. In this period I won some accordion competitions. In the meantime I
graduated from a technical high school with a diploma in electronics and I started work as a programmer/arranger and sound technician in a small local recording studio.
One year later I did my military service and I met my friend
and saxophonist Luciano Zuccatti.
We immediately had a good musical feeling. So we formed a duo
and in the following years we entertained people at dance parties and even played for the local radio and
television station and made studio recordings.
I took a number of electronic and IT courses and in 1991 I changed my job from arranger to electronic
developer. I worked for Korg Italy as a freelance MIDI system developer for 5 years. Then I was employed by
an electronic project company in the R&D department.
In this period my passion for jazz music was born. I tried some experiments and entered a few accordion jazz competitions
facing the initial difficulties and rather disappointing results. But in 2000 I did a master class in jazz accordion with
Richard Galliano and met my current jazz teacher-mentor,
the great Italian jazz accordionist Renzo Ruggieri.
I decided to do Ruggieri’s long-distance internet jazz accordion course and under his great guidance I even
started writing some accordion articles for the Fisarmoniae magazine.
I’ve played with:
Max Tempia,
Marco di Battista,
Roberto Desiderio,
Marco di Natale,
Toni Fidanza,
Mario Punzi,
Rino Cavalli.
At present I work in the R&D department of an electronic company. I deal with hardware e firmware development with
DSP and microcontroller. At the moment I’m developing a microwave sensor.
